La Fe becomes a meeting point for research with the 1st Nursing Scientific Conference of the Valencia South Integrated Health Area

The Hospital Universitari i Politècnic La Fe hosted the 1st Nursing Scientific Conference of the Valencia South Integrated Health Area, a pioneering event that brought together healthcare professionals from the Valencia Arnau de Vilanova-Llíria and Valencia-La Fe health departments, consolidating a shared space for the dissemination of knowledge, innovation and collaboration in nursing research.

The conference was held within the framework of the 10th Conference on Innovation and Evidence in Care and the 19th Nursing Scientific Activity Conference, and its main novelty was the joint participation of the Valencia South Integrated Health Area, with the collaboration of IIS La Fe and FISABIO, thus strengthening interdepartmental synergies and institutional cooperation.

The opening ceremony was led by Ángela Garrido, Head of the Nursing Competency Development Service of the Regional Ministry of Health, together with management representatives and nursing directors from both departments and research centres. They highlighted the strategic role of nursing research as an essential complement to clinical practice and as a driving force for continuous improvement within the healthcare system.

Variety and quality of the presented work

Throughout the conference, 9 oral communications, 4 academic scientific papers, 4 scientific publications and 8 posters were presented. The works addressed high-impact clinical topics such as innovation in wound care, patient safety, research in neonatology, primary care, emergency care, critical care and community health, as well as the application of new technologies, artificial intelligence and remote monitoring in nursing care.

The high level of participation and the diversity of projects clearly demonstrated the strong scientific profile and research commitment of nursing professionals, as well as the importance of creating shared spaces for experience exchange, talent visibility and the promotion of joint research strategies.

Following the presentation of the scientific work, attendees were able to take part in 10 practical workshops, organised with the collaboration of healthcare and technology sector sponsors. Companies such as Mölnlycke, B. Braun, Convatec, GSK, Urgo, AlfaSigma, Winncare and Medtronic actively contributed through training workshops focused on innovation in dressings, complex wound management, vascular access, pressure ulcer prevention, vaccine research, artificial intelligence and advances in clinical monitoring, promoting knowledge updating and the transfer of scientific evidence into clinical practice.
